エンジェルウォーズ(2011)

「ドーン・オブ・ザ・デッド(2004)」「３００＜スリーハンドレッド＞(2007)」「ウォッチメン(2009)」などの個性的な映像で注目を浴びた「ザック・スナイダー」監督が、またまた異色の作品をみせてくれた。
予告編を観る限りは５人のセクシー美女が暴れる痛快ファンタジー・バトル・アクション映画という、いかにもＢ級作品ですといわんばかりの予感がするのだが、この監督の作品というのが気になって劇場に脚を運んでしまいました。
結果は・・・予想を大きく裏切ってヒネリの効いたストーリーになっており、最後まで展開が読めず良かった。
愛する家族を奪われ、醜悪な継父の陰謀で全てを奪われて精神病院送りとなった少女「エミリー・ブラウニング」が４人の仲間達と病院を脱走する為に空想世界へ入り、壮絶な闘いを繰り広げるという、よく判らない設定で話しは進んでいきます。
ビデオ・ゲームさながらに多彩なステージで鎧武者やロボット・ゾンビ・ドラゴンと格闘するド迫力のアクションは飽きさせません。
この監督は日本のゲーム会社「カプコン」のファンなのか、最初に登場する鎧武者の映像は「鬼武者」の完全パクリですし、ドラゴンも「モンスターハンター」を観ている様だった。（私は大好きなんですが）
激しいヴァイオレンスとアクションを得意としている監督が、本当に作りたかった映画を好き勝手にやりたい放題で作ったという感がある作品で、好き嫌いは大きく分かれると思いますが、私は大画面のスクリーンで観ておいて良かったと思える映画でした。
但し、心理的な残酷さがある映画なので、ラストの結末は不快な思いで劇場を後にしなければならない人がいるかもしれません。
